gecko not eating; looks sickly

axawl Jul 01, 2004 10:39 PM

I have had my gecko for nearly a year now and I have never seen anything like this. I am afraid he is ill. He has not been eating the crickets i normally give him. I take them out after they have been in there for a while. I thought maybe his UTH wasn't working and he was too cold to eat but it is fully functional along with the heat lamp. He is very thin compared to his normal self...Is there something else I can try? What other steps should I take before I take him to the vet? (I'm in college and can't really spare the money unless it's absolutely necessary)

Thank you,
Brad

Have you tried feeding him anything besides crickets?

How is your gecko doing? You never answered, so I'm wondering?

I still Haven't seen him eat...I didn't reply because I was out of town for the weekend. I am going to get some mealworms tomorrow...maybe he will attempt to eat those. I have also tried changing the lighting around. He seems to slowly be getting thinner...Thank you for your response and concern.
