perlite as incubation medium...weight : water ratio?

umop_apisdn Jul 01, 2004 11:34 PM

ok, im trying to help a friend out who has had trouble keeping her r. ciliatus eggs viable. after talking it over with her, i believe the issue to be either the ventilation, the humidity, or the incubation medium. so after brainstorming a bit i set out to put something together as a cheap and hopefully reliable incubator for her eggs. now i decided to get perlite from the local hardware store to use as the incubation medium. i made sure to choose a kind with no fertilizers or extra chemicals. now my only final question is how many parts water should i put for every unit weight of perlite?
