Best beginner viper

TraceH Jul 02, 2004 12:05 AM

I just acquired some neodesha cages and was very interested in getting a pair of small, arboreal viper. I have had venomous training in the past and feel comfortable working around dangerous animals. I just can't decide what I would like to start out with. What do you think the pros and cons to eyelash vipers, the Trim. genus, etc. Thanks.

I've been thinking about getting an eyelash viper myself. Do you know where's a good place to pick 1 up?

Trimerserus are a fun group that range from mildly to severely venomous.

If I were to pick a good starter (I admit predjudice as it was my first)Pope's Tree Viper is one of the best. They stay reasonably small and are not that mobile. Plus they are hardy and if you get tagged not as bad as a lot of others.

Eyelashes are not hard to find. I have three that I got from local sources. If you are going to Daytona there is a dealer that was there last year that had some mindblowers!
