Veilds head...questions...help?

jason clark Jun 20, 2003 03:03 PM

Im hoping that someone here has an answer for me...i have a question about my veild chameleon who is almost a year old. His head is never green or yellow or even brown like the rest of his body, its always a pale white color. Even right after he sheds his head is always white, can somebody please tell me whats going on here and a way to fix or prevent it? Thanks in advance!

If this has always been the case maybe it is just a weird color variation. There are a lot of non-typical veiled colors out there these days. Something like a burn, infection, fungus etc. would have either spread or caused tissue death and necrosis. Loose skin would have come off with a shed. If the area of this color is always the same and the skin itself looks OK it might just be a mutation or the result of a nutritional deficiency at birth. Can you send a pic?
