safe/unsafe insects? termites?

Are there any WC bugs that I absolutely cannot give my geckos? My vet told me the only ones that are never OK are spiders and ladybugs. Any one know of any others? Assuming size is right. Also, once as a treat I ordered some termites, which I heard was one of their normal foods in the wild, and they loved 'em!!! Adults that will refuse small crickets (under 1/2 in) were seeking out and devouring even termite larvae as small as 1/4 inch. They were expensive, shipped to MD from a co. I know in CA, but god did they love them. FYI

Doubt you would even give these to them but lightning bugs cuz the toxic stuff they use to light up.But also you shouldnt really give wildcaught because the neighbors or someone close could have pesticides.Enless you are very far from neighbors and you dont have any pesticides stick to farm raised bugs ie:super worms, mealies, silk worms, waxies, crix, the termites you've been getting and stuff like that.

I'd say use grasshoppers if you could. I get mine from a county park where there are lots of fields. They can't spray the fields because of the other wildlife that lives there. My gecko's generally love grasshoppers... and they come in all sizes around this time of the year.
