Jazmine and Rex meeting for brunch (pic)

mattk17 Jul 02, 2004 02:45 PM

Got a shot of Jaz and Rex linking up for mid day brunch. What was on the menu today? Carrots, strawberries and grapes. The couple is getting to know each other nicely and we hope one day there will be little turtles to join us!

Oh yeah! Glad to see her getting along. I take it she's eating and adjusting well? Hey if you need any more plants, I'm going to have to give some more away! I've got plenty of those lirope's and other's if your interested. Keep the pics coming......I feel good knowing she is happy!

Jaz is doing great. Her and Rex are best buds now. Only thing is he sleeps in his wooden basket while she prefers under that broad leaved plant you gave us. The plants are doing well. Lost one of the tall ones (winds blew it over during storm) but other than that one casualty, I think they are going to make it.

Jaz is in excellant health and is eating fine. She will take the food right out of our hands just like Rex. All my wife has to do is carry the food tray out there and they both race to it now. They always go for the strawberries or peaches first but jaz also takes the sliced carrots, tomato and of course romaine well.

Did you find a good home for the little male ornate yet?

Yes, I found a great home for Timmy and my male 3-toed. I decided to let all the boys go so I can hopefully not worry about more babies. I'll be down to 3 girls and that will be plenty for us. Our realtor suggested we tear out as much of that pen mess as possible to allow potential buyers to envision the yard space. What work!! I am so happy to hear that Jaz is doing great...........she is truly a great pet!!

Glad to hear you placed the other turtles. Hate to hear you will have to rip out the nicely built enclosure but the realator is probably right. You never know what is going to be most important to the prospective house buyer. If big open yard is the hot button for them, it could kill the sale. My opinion is your yard looked beautiful as was! BTW, Jaz is doing great. Appetite very good.

We had a scare sunday. Shelly went out for morning feeding time. Rex is always in his little wooden shelter and Jaz is usually under that broadleaf plant but sunday she wasn't there! We looked all around enclosure and couldn't spot her. Started to panic so lifted up Rex's house and guess who made herself right at home in Rex house? Yep, Jaz was right there behind him just hanging out!
