Cool your house down and the next morning, look under the refrigarator and hot water heater or other warm places. If you have tile or hard floors you can sprinkle flour on the floor and she will leave tracks.
Good Luck, Rick
THANX!! I have carpet but I will crank the AC
She will probably be trying to find a moist place to lay her eggs, but of course, will most likely ONLY be out at night or when the house is dark, I would let the room or rooms you think she is in stay dark when it get dark outside & then about 10pm on, either turn the lights on & start slowly walking & looking for her, be sure & use a flashlight when doing this to look along walls & areas that are not fully lit up, if no luck, turn lights right back off & try this every hour or so, you might just see her on the prowl.
During daytime or when its light in the rooms, she will seek a spot that she feels secure in & they like places that are dark, where they can wedge into, shelves will stacks on papers, magazines or even into a box of clothes or other stuff you could have stored, its a tough call if you accumulate "stuff" like I do, lol. Make sure your door thresholds are in good shape & that the door is secure enough that she could not escape under or around it. Good luck & with persistence, you should find her soon.......JF
Thank-you for the advise and the good wishes. Since we live in Tucson which is a dry climate she will have trouble finding a moist location, except maybe the laundry basket. The main problem is my oldest boy is moving out and has his stuff packed in the living room. if she gets in there and she will be moved. Unfortunately he does not like snakes and would not welcome an additional pet at his new location. He can give me a call though if he does find her to come and get her since he is not moving to far.
Mine got out when we first got the little bugger... watch for holes in the walls cause they LOVE those areas. The flour idea is good too... another one is to blend up a skink and 'scent' a warm, damp area like a shoebox. Watch the stove, they like those and they're difficult to take apart.
Unfortunately we live in an apartment so mine slithered through the walls and into the neighbors... who promptly moved out!
After giving him back at least...
