Hi everyone

georgio Jul 02, 2004 03:21 PM

It's been a while and a crazy while at that. Just finished up school and had to move. The babies hatched yesterday so that was really exciting. I've been frantically trying to get everything situated at my new place. Building a whole bunch of stackable melamine cages as well as outdoor sunning cages and baby racks. Here's a picture of the sunning cages:

The baby racks are 16" tall and the final version has a hardware cloth screen that sits flush with the top of the containers. They are modular so each section can stack on top of each other.

The babies are adorable! Really exciting seeing them hatch for the first time. Here's a picture of the first one to hatch. He's 1 day old:

I have not updated my website in forever but I'm going to get everything up to date this next month. Any interest in a series of articles containing instructions for building stackable cages, sunning cages and baby racks?

Some bad news: Monarch got out of his temporary cage last night. I'm hoping my girlfriends dog did not do anything to him as he was here and we were not. I have not found him yet and the fences at my new place are breachable. I hope he's okay...

Hope everyone else is doing well. I should be posting a bit more now that things have settled down a bit.

Peter

Glad the hatching went well! I could imagine how exciting it must have been when you noticed the first one coming out.

That really is a bummer what happened to Monarch Gees isn't he the big daddy of the crew? You lost him outside or inside? What a shame that is. I know I'd be pretty worried. I really hope you find him soon!!!

The rack looks good, and that outside enclosure is really nice. I would love to see articles on how everything was assembled. Good luck Peter.

Ahh man just read the fence is breachable. That really stinks. Of course tell the neighbors, maybe with a picture and your number and of course tell them he's docile. Call around at the places that people would contact if they found it in their yard already maybe he's been seen already. Your climate is very suitable, hopefully someone will spot him and give you a call. He is bright orange. I know quite a few times people lost them outside only to find them still in the yard a few days after. Gees good luck Peter hope he turns up in the yards around your place.

Thanks Matt. I still haven't found him...getting a bit scared. Babies are doing great. Looking forward to seeing your second clutch...

Hey Peter, I've been wondering if you were still around. Great cages for the yard. Congrats on the hatchlings, I currently have 22 eggs in the incubator myself. About 3 more weeks till hatching. I would love to see your melamine stackables as I moved the shop and am in the process of designing new reptile enclosures. I'm concerned about using melamine though as some of the enclosures will require high humidity and misting. Anyway, sorry to hear about Monarch. I still have the pic of your two beardies and Boulder sitting on the bench as my wallpaper.

How about a Boulder update?

Hope this helps.

Been a while. Boulder's doing great. He's still got the scars on his back but he's loving his time outside in the summer. I'll get some pictures soon and post them up on the Uromastyx forum. Good to hear from you!
