Weird Larva in Albino cage???????

Underachiever Jul 02, 2004 05:18 PM

This afternoon I cleaned my Albino Corns cage like i do on a regular basis. I keep her on aspen shavings. While scrapin out the bottom i noticed a few weird looking larva.....thingys. I dont know what they were or were they came from they were extreamly small and white, almost kinda see-through. About a month ago she got over a bad case of mites and I have made sure to keep her cage clean as well as her(she loves a good warm bath). Could they be related to the mites. I gave her cage a good scrubin and I am going to keep an eye on her very closley until i find out what they are. Any ideas as what to do and what they are...PLEASE tell me.

they sound like maggots...nasty little things but i guess they were just feeding on her poo..is her cage top screen and have you seen any flies in the house?

flypaper may do the trick of preventing them from laying their eggs also whenever you see her poo clean it up the second you notice it hope i helped...

They wern't maggots. They were smaller than maggots and i have seen no flies in the house at all. Her cage is a top screen and i clean it out every week to week and a half...dpending on how often she ate and weather or not she shed.

fruit fly maggots are alot smaller than normal house flies or green botle flies....or zebra flies....

anyways....

were they maggot shaped?.......

were they like little white mites?.mites look like mites...all sizes....some are white as they shed...but most will be brown and or black looking..(round little balls)......
