so what about bearded dragon food as substrate?

i see these big bags of beardie food, like in pellets, so wouldnt that work?? if they ingested it, it obviosly wouldnt be bad. what'dya think?

Well a 35 lb. bag of pellets sells for about $80 and a 50lb bag of playsand is about $3. How much money do you have?

Technically yes but just not cost effective. Anything that got wet would be ruined after a short while. Cleaning would have to be meticulous if your dragon actuallt liked pellets it would eat them all the time and bacteria could be lurking. I just would consider it from any angle.

wheat bran is better, it is edible and is like 40 cents a pound and looks like sand and is warm and soft for the beardies to dig in. but it cant get wet.
