Paralyzed Chameleon?

SFiloso Jul 03, 2004 12:18 AM

I've been having trouble with my 9 month old Veiled recently, his back legs appear weak and hang when he climbs. I've been working with these lizards for years and have a good system down of feeding and dusting with mor ethan adequate lighting and habitat, and these symptoms seem to defy logic. Any ideas what could be causing this? A parasite? Nothing appears to be broken...

My first chameleon was a panther, the day I got him being in a new setup during the night there was a thunder storm and must have spooked him and he fell. In the morning I found his back legs and tail were very weak. I immediatly took him to the vet to find when he fell two of his vertabrea(sp) had sliped they didnt break but when they sliped they pinched the spinal cord. I would take him to a vet to see if this could be the cause sadly that chameleon I was only able to keep alive for a year after he fell. Also the injury my cham had was not visable to the eye, the vet felt and then x-rayed it.
