Would it be a good idea to put an air freshener in or near my BD's cage?
Is there a product especially for improving the smell around reptile habitats?

yeah, air fresheners are good for Coo-Coos . (YOU MEAN THE FILTER THINGY ON THE WALL, RIGHT?)
woops, sorry, capslock was on!
i found a dead newt at petco. it was floating around in its water. it was as thin as a stick, it starved to death.
poor sally
(thats what i call salamanders and newts)
If you are talking about The spray type,,, I would say no. Dragons are very sensitive to Chemicals & you would be playing Russian roulette. If you are talking about those gel type that you just open & they smell for a while, I do that sometimes.
The best thing to do is, clean any poo as soon as you see it & take it out of the house. Get some NovalsanS (follow the directions & dilute it) put it in a spray bottle & do touch-up cleanings. Once you notice that there is still a smell even after it's been cleaned (sometimes the smell lingers for a little while, I'm talking about if you've cleaned it & it still smells 30min. later) Then you know it's time to do a substrate change & overall total cleaning.
I keep a small trash can in my animal room. We keep the little plastic grocery store bags & use those. All spot cleanings go in that & it goes out a couple times a day.
Oh! If you are having some people over, or if someone did a bad poo & the smell just wants to hang out, even after you cleaned it (in the room, I'm not talking about just in the cage) A great thing to use is a quality candle. Yankee is a good brand. That helps.
Well there is my opinion on the smell factor.

I agree with everything Joel said.
I spor clean my dragons cages as soon as they go, and the smell never lingers more than a few minutes. Other than that, their cages don't smell at all.

Well, I don't know cuz I don't use them, but again beardies are sensitive to that stuff. Maybe if you have it on the opposite side of your room...

I hate this computer, it sent the message befor I was done.
Some candles and insence give off fumes toxic to insects like crix and roaches. I had a colony of roaches die off and a bunch of crix too, all from burning candles.
as for those haging air fresheners, I say not in the cage, thats an awfuly small area fr somehing that freshens an entire room or a car. It would be very very strong.

well here's my plan-
buy sum sort of desert landscape picture baking thingy for my tank, and buy one of those gell air fresheners, and stick it outta sight on the outsde back of the tank.
- hows that sound?

Might be too close.
I think more importantly you should find out why your enclosure stinks so bad and fix that.
