Already had this guy try to scam me, but going by the name "Stephen". This is a pox on our hobby, and this ba$t@rd should be locked up. I hope there is a way to prosecute him without anybody getting ripped off. Any ideas?

I just posted above... I didn't even see you had posted the same thing. Well, I think this email went around a few months ago and people were warning each other about it. He must think we are all fools.

All you can do really is not to do business with anyone you feel is trying to scam you, I had a scam go down about 6 years ago, I ended up winning the law suit and he had to pay the money he scamed me for plus interest, the only fall back isTHERE IS NO LAW FORCING HIM TO PAY. I never recieved a penny nor do I axpect to, the only thing that happened to him was it went on his credit report that he has a judgement against him,, big freaking deal. he still has the money.
The only way the courts would even consider him as a criminal would be if I NOT THE POLICE BUT I prove he had intenet to scam me from day one, even though I had proof of him scamming SEVERAL OTHERS THE SAME WAY, the courts considered him harmless and gave me the ruling, but being that I won the case , I still lost over $7,000.
All we can do to protect ourselves is to continue to warn others and go by our gut instinct and a little bit of common sense. We are all in this business to make money and even though everyone of us is a competitor to each other we owe it to the business and each other to watch our backs.
Thank you for posting this interesting attempt to do business with a "business ass ociate"
I will deffinately keep my ears and eyes open and as always will be willing to share any information that may save someone a lot of grief.
Bravo!

Its a scam alright. I just had my Pontiac Trans Am for sale on the internet. I basically recieved the same type of letter. The letter could read the same but you would insert car/descriptions instead of snakes. I wonder how many people fall for these scams these dirtbags put out there. I always assumed bank checks were good but not so and as my local bank teller replied there really not good since most are completely counterfiet. Makes me wonder why banks would credit your account so fast and let you take the hit a couple of weeks later. Yes, a type of the good old scam.

I just emailed them back and said they aught to check out the boa forum here on kingsnake, because they were quite the "hot topic".

With the next one I get, I will tell them I will gladly take their check, and like all checks, will be subject to a 2-week clearance period, afterwhich we will make arrangements for him to pick up the boa. I wonder if I would hear back from him??? Probably not.
