First eggs laid today! A little worried about my female, plaese read.

Ok my 11month old female veiled laid her first clutch of eggs today but still looks kind of fat and is still darker colored like when she was gravid (although she is a bit lighter now). She laid 24 eggs which seems like a normal first clutch to me but how can i tell if there are any eggs still inside her. She also isnt very interested in food although she drank alot of water. Thanks for suggestions.

I would not use the word double clutch, that means she re-fertilized herself and now has more eggs comming. this usualy happens a month to two after she lays the first clutch.

Its ALWAYS a real good idea to keep weights on your chameleons, weigh her weekly, this way you can know how much she weighs after, its a good sign that she might have retained some eggs if she is not at least as light as she was before breeding.

My tamatave laid 3 eggs the day after she laid her first clutch. I guess she just got tired the first day but because I weighted her and she was still real heavy I knew she was not done laying and put her back in the laying tub the next day.
