Very frustrated...>>>>

I went to Petco and a smaller petshop looking for a live pink for Beanie since she has her appetite back now. No one will sell me a live one. Where does everyone else get their live pinks???? Tomorrow I am going to this reptile place a few towns over to get a pink for my poor little Beanie (she's just wasting away!!!)

What is her typical diet? Do you keep her in with the male or other females? It is normal for them to lose wieght when they are laying as much as she is. When a female in my colony loses to much weight from breeding, I separate them out and feed them all the mealies they want. Often times they won't gain any substantial weight backuntil they are done laying for the year.
Good luck

My local oet shop sells them live, but only on certain days. Have you tried frozen? Some will take them, or you can fool her into thinking its alive maybe. My female has lost some weight, but not much, I give her a pink after she lays and has her apetite back, and that gives some fat to store for the next clutch, though supers (thats wat shes eating) are also good for putting weight on leos i find, and highly recomend them. Good luck,
Mac

I don't have any problems getting live pinkies in my area when I need them. Depending on how many you use, it may be worth your trouble to keep a pair of breeding mice.
