I'm not that familiar with sliders but these sound cool. Can you post pic's of them? Of course it depends where you are but these are definetly not common in the pet trade here in Western Canada. When searching for odd herps it's best to do just as you are with posts, also keep checking in with importers like Zoological Herp Supply (not an endorsement, never have used them but just an easy to remember name). Keep in mind that many herps are only seasonally available.
It will be quite likely you will have to get wild-caught specimens if not available as CB. I won't go into the con's of wild-caught animals but suggest you research it if not yet versed in such topics.
Good luck!

Thats odd, appearently there are two types of nicaraguans, t. emoli, and T. ornata. I was actually looking for the later, I think its a prettier turtle.

Turtle town, Turtle Pimp, and some guy that goes by the name of Chelidman on KS all have them. I know they have the peacock sliders and belize sliders. There are also many other subspecies that exist, but I haven't seen them for sale. From all the books that I've read, there are a couple of undescribed subspecies also. I was looking into buying some too and will in the future, but I just don't have the room with all my other turtles right now. Let us know if you do purchase some.

Thanks

Joel
