Egg reabsorbtion?

riiotgrrl Jul 03, 2004 08:20 PM

Is it possible for an iggy to be gravid, and then reabsorb the eggs? I know its possible...but how formed do the eggs have to be? Sunny has gone back to her normal (ish) pooping schedule, but she has been a bit sluggish and really picky about food. Her calcium levels are fine. And i have a nest box (a large cardboard box lined with plastic) filled with forest bed. She is still acting weird tho. ugh, i dunno. AND 2 weeks before my wedding. can life get any more stressful??

Yes, an ig can reabsorb. Usually, they go back to eating and quit digging.

They can also have problems with egg binding. The only difference I know is in the appetite. With egg binding, she will quit eating.

Stressfull? Yes

Hi riotgrrl,

Don't have any advice on your girl, unfortunately, but just wanted to commiserate with you on the wedding stuff. Mine was mid-July of last year, and stressful doesn't even begin to describe... :P

Best of luck to you & I'm sending calming waves in your direction.

...is with a radiograph. X-rays are quick and cheap, and help you by letting you know the needs of your iguana.
