bathing

sturgismom Jul 03, 2004 11:48 PM

Sturgis was so excited for the sun to have finally come out after a month of rain that he pooped, then seemed to "roll" in it. I didn't see him do this, but it (the poop) is all over the side of his head and part of his body. I have bathed him before, but I am afraid the water will get in his ear, and the poo is all around the ear opening. How can I clean him and not hurt him? He is almost 7 years old, and about 24 inches long. Thank you for whatever advice you can give me. I plan on bathing him tomorrow and letting him "sun-bathe" in his outdoor enclosure tomorrow afternoon. He loves the sun!

A soft bristled toothbrush is what I use to scrub them while they're in the tub. I think they actually like the feel of it on their scales.
