The Dixie Dumpling (obsoleta morph)

KE Jul 04, 2004 09:14 AM

Here is the Dixie Dumpling. He is one of the founders of the Lemon morphs that I produce. He was found by a small boy as a fresh hatchling over a decade ago and brought in to the pet store where I was working in Jefferson County, Kentucky. It took me many years, lots of cash, and tons of baby snakes to aquire this snake from my old boss. Last year I bred him to a normal Jefferson county female and hope to produce babies from this line next year. He has already proven that his condition is genetic by founding the lemon line with another freak female found in my county. Thanks for looking. As I am posting lots of lemon shots I wanted to share the snake who made it all possible. Sorry for the long load time on the pic. I wanted to share a big one! K.E. aka Will Bird

That animal is not a possible het albino. His eyes changed color over the years! They started out with black pupils and blue irises. They now have black pupils with yellow irises! WOW!!!!! Will

Amazing snake, but a comment about your picture size -

I appreciate the desire to post a large picture, but you might want to try some jpg compression of your images.

See if you can tell the difference between these two images -

One is yours and the other is yours with some jpg compression getting the image size down from 675kb to around 100kb. For the inconsequential difference between the two pics, the top one loads over 6X faster.

I do have a cable modem, but I still don't like having to wait for undercompressed images to download.

Chris,
I am already shrinking the pics by over 3/4 in photoshop. I have not tried to compress them though. Where do I look in Photoshop to use that feature? Thanks and again, sorry for the long load times. If it is easier to e-mail me my addy is wbird@ius.edu Will
