Ok, this one is a little more complicated, but I'm just tryin' to make sure I can get my head around this stuff....here goes.
I bred a ghost to a hypo, got pretty much all normal or hypo babies, cool, but they are het for anery and hypo. I got that. When I breed back to each other, here's the question...
I kept a male and female offspring. First question, if I breed the two F1 generations, I can get all kinds of stuff, right? Anery, hypo, and ghost. If I'm wrong, correct that for me. But, here's the more interesting question. Say the male (hypo) was het for something I didn't know about, and didn't show up in the first generation. Would it be better to breed the female offspring back to the father, or would I get the same results with the F1 generation breeding? Same goes for the female (ghost) that I originally bred. Should I breed the F1 back to her? Genetically speaking, is it better to breed kids to kids, or kids to parents?
Here my eggs haven't even pipped, and I'm thinkin' of my breeding for next year! This is one crazy addiction!
