Sick red tail boa

mongo1 Jul 04, 2004 04:38 PM

I met a lady friday who has had this red tail boa for 13 years and he's only 5 feet. She doesn't know what has happened to this boa, it came home from the vet looking like this, as the last three years have gone by it's gotten more bumps. She feeds this snake 1 large rat a month maybe every other month. I'm trying to help any suggestions on the bumps on his back?

You said she came back from the vet like this? But then you said she has had these bumps for years. Did the snake get any injections? They could be irratation from injections. Are the bumps movable? Is it her spine? Maybe you should have an aspirate done on the bumps, that'll tell you what your dealing with. Has the snake been with the same owner all her life? Was it feed once a month when it was a baby? Sorry I know more questions than answers.
