BloodRed Question

marktexas Jul 04, 2004 04:59 PM

I wanted to extend a Happy 4th Of July to everyone here in the US, And for those of you outside the US I hope you are doing something fun today.

I had a question about Bloodred Corns. I have read when they are adults most will lose the color in the saddles and bands around the saddles and they become one smooth shade of red. I know this can't be the case in every snake but I was hoping to get some feedback and photos of Adult BloodRed Corn Snakes.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct that not all bloodreds completely loose their pattern.

My male is a very nice one. The female is okay (and getting better with each shed), but still not the greatest.

Here are a few photos of my bloodreds, both currently 2 years old.

Female:

(At about 1 year old)

(At 2 years old)

Male:

(At about 1 year old)

(At 2 years old - I know, horrible background)

Photos of both:

(At about 1.5 years old)

At 2 years old, though the colors are NOT AT ALL true and the female looks horrible. She looks WAY better in person, she's also in shed in this one)
