tunahound Jul 04, 2004 09:42 PM

I recently aquired some etbs that are suppose to be cb (but I seriously doubt it) at any rate they are beautiful snakes as I have a 1.3.of these fantastic creatures.I try to feed on sat. to keep everything in check simplicity is my rule of thumb.well it seems like everytime I feed I get regurge Im not giving to big of prey items and I spray there cages twice a day sometimes more what must I do?also how can I get these guys to eat regularly?

1) how old are they? If older than one year try feeding every other saturday...
2)instead of feeding items that are "not too big" try feeding items that are just downright small (ie cause no noticable lump in the body)
3) make sure the cage doesnt get too hot with an area where it stays 75 and an area of 80-82 on the other side (unless gravid).
4)you may try probiotic powder (just a little sprinkled on the food) from Bean Farm to replace normal intestinal bacteria).
5)WAIT 14 DAYS BEFORE REFEEDING after a regurg
6)do a fecal or bring to a vet if it regurges again
7)sometimes its hard to turn down a great deal on a killer snake from an unknown source but I like to spend the extra $ and buy from a well known breeder who has a closed collection and no imports....besides I would rather support those who truly love emmies instead of those who treat them like a comodity!the photo is of one of mine that did regurg ONCE when I fed it an item that was a bit too big...that was 20 meals or more ago and I know as long as I follow those rules it should regurg again.

( once you have had one emmy die of reurg the fear is always there it will happen again!)
