this double het for snow female laid 11 eggs, all good, in her first clutch.
She never bred again, but had another shed and then 56 days after the first clutch she laid this clutch of 8 eggs, six of which appear to be good.

Hi Terry!
Could you explain more about it? How many days she shed after the first clutch? What is the weight on her when you breed her, and after she laid the first clutch? When you breed her, how many time she meet the male? Thanks Eric
Hi Eric,
>>Hi Terry!
>>Could you explain more about it? How many days she shed after the first clutch?
she laid her first clutch 5/6 and shed 6/23--so shed was 48 days after the first clutch. she laid her second clutch 7/2, or 57 days after the first clutch.
>>What is the weight on her when you breed her, and after she laid the first clutch?
sorry, although i weigh my animals frequently as they're growing i don't do so regularly during the breeding season, relying on "eyeballing" the snake instead--if a female is thin after her first clutch i rest her; occasionally a female with good body weight doesn't resume feeding aggressively, so i cut back her food to a maintenance level and rest her; the vast majority of females have good body weight after laying their first clutches, resume feeding vigorously, and are given the opportunity to breed a second time. My experience with hondurans hasn't been such that i've had any concern that would prompt me to weigh the females & monitor their weights before considering second clutches, though the data would always be interesting, as any data is. I guess i don't partly because breeding season is a lot more busy than the rest of the year!
>>When you breed her, how many time she meet the male?
Prior to her first clutch i recorded copulations on only two occasions, with high sperm counts both times, on 3/30 and 4/7. That means she laid her first clutch 37 days after her first copulation, a little shorter period of time than usual.
As noted on the initial post, she did NOT breed with a male between the time she laid the first clutch and the second.
Thanks Eric
peace, terry
I really want to learn more. That's why I want to know the data. I have a female albino just laid eggs couple days ago. I didn't cycle her during the winter season. Eggs are looking good now, and if all the eggs hatch. Does it mean we don't have to cycle the female?
Thank.
Eric
