Hello I am considering a breeding group of one of these pythons. What I need to know is which retains more pattern as adults? Also which is more popular in the pet trade? Thanks,

Sorry, I didn't read all your post at first, just the title. Spotteds hold more pattern into adulthood. As for which is more popular in the trade, I don't know the answer to that. They seem equally popular to me, but I don't know for sure. My advice to you is look at all the pics you can and go with what you like the most. That is what matters the most!

Well I have searched the net and nothing about there adult patterns. I like both of them but I have to chose one for now. I thonk Ill go with the spotteds. Thanks for the replys,
-Matt
Spotteds retain more pattern, while Children's typically fade into a faint-patterned snake when adult.
Both are very calm, easy-going snakes as adults (babies can be nippy for a year, but not always - some are nice from the start). Spotteds usually get a little larger than childreni, and IMO spotteds tend to be less shy, though both can be very inquisitive little snakes.
I had a rescued adult female childreni that was the calmest snake anyone could have.. like a docile cornsnake. I also had a rescue spotted that was the same way.
