>>Do you think my theory is right? You think that the eggs are so "full" that it is hard to tell where one begins and the other ends?
I'm pretty sure she will lay them soon. Does she have a good laying container? I will be very excited to see pics of the hatchlings in sixty or seventy days! It's hardest waiting!
>>P.S. I am sorry to hear about your apalchicola. I bought her, one male brooks king, and one female florida king as somebody's "castoffs" at a reptile show. I think I paid $75 total for all three!
Some people just don't care for the Apalachicola or Florida Kings. To me they seem to have more "character" than a lot of other snakes. I was truly devastated to lose Phantom (the male) as he was my favorite snake... personality wise... even if he was too dumb to know my finger wasn't a mouse (and would BITE)... he was just my fave. It's hard to think about replacing HIM, but I do have to have a nice male apalachicola to put with HER and with her daughter who might be up to breeding size next year.
I'll be going to the Tucson Reptile Show in August and in the meantime I'm saving all the money I get for selling mice, rats, and gerbils. I've been saving a couple of months and the tally is nearly $100. Hopefully I will find a good match for her, and next year have my own Appalachicola hatchlings again.
