What other animals can live with Savannahs if any?

mendes Jul 05, 2004 09:31 AM

I am picking up 2 Savannah Monitors shortly. My tank is extremely large(4'x8') so size should hopefully not be an issue. But can anything live with them or not? I know that a nile monitor cannot have any other animals. What about a savannah? I was think of maybe 4 crested geckos? Am I out of luck?

Sure you can keep Cresteds with them. They will just become and expensive meal. 4X8 for 2 savs is enough room for 2 savs. Don't put anything else in with them as they will use it all. BTW unless your putting a monitor or lizard of equal size in with another monitor it would most likely be lunch.

In addition to crested geckos definately becoming monitor lunch, crested geckos usually dont need any higher temps than room temperature, while savs need a 130 degree basking spot. This kind of heat would kill a crestie very quickly.
