Now, everybody come out here and shine the cuts on 281 before they carve those stupid elephants and giraffes on them!

Mike, You can stay at Indian Lodge in the park, camp, or stay in that Motel just as you turn North going up highway 17. Indian Lodge may be a little pricey, I am not sure. I have never stayed there, but they do have good food at the lidge that is fairly priced. Fort Davis in August is great! You will have a good time. There are bed and breakfast places in town too, but that IS a little pricey for a Herper, ..........at least for me.

Well, I have a vacation coming on July 25-August 2. I was originally going to Mexico on a collecting trip but that fell through. So, I just might be going that direction at that time. I am still trying to decide. Wherever I do go though, you can bet it will be in Alterna land!

Are you kidding? What part of town are you in? Over here in Castroville all I find DOR are rattlers, Texas rats and garters. My neighbor yelled at me yesterday to come and see the rattler he killed in his front yard (he kills EVERYTHING). I took it home to skin and it's headless, skinless corpse wiggled around for over 3 hours on my back porch! Creepy.

ps...that reply about the animal carvings on the 281 cuts was a hoot!
