the day after we celebrate independence and freedom.....

...I think it is appropriate that we help our fellow herpers in New York make a statement about their freedoms. I'm talking about bill #2684—F which seeks to legislate animal ownership including our beloved boas. I just sent my letter to Governor Pataki. It is frightening to think what may happen if New York is successful in this endeavor. New York is one of our most populous and influential states. There are certainly enough members of the North Carolina General Assembly with sufficient personal prejudice against reptiles to "take up the cause". Next thing you know they will be coming after boa collections like they were crystal meth labs. Take some time and lend a hand.

Address for the bill itself:

It's very important that we all act on this.

has to realize, whether you live in New York or not, we will ALL be adversely affected by this insidious legislation!!! I and other New Yorkers, besides keeping and breeding reptiles, purchase many reptiles from ALL the States. The Legislation states we won't be able to keep and breed reptiles but what isn't stated is we won't be able to purchase any reptiles either!!!
