That seems a little TOO hot. I never really looked into GROUND temps but i would imagine around 85-90 tops.

Yeah! Yo are going to fry your ball at 100!!!!! 88-92 No higher!! P.S. buy a book on captive husbandry of BP'S.

zawakees, if you have a UTH theres no need for a heat bulb. Unless you want air temp to go up. What kinda bulb do you have> i amde the mistake of buying a 75watt infa-red heat bulb. I let it on the carpet (after i inplugged it for about a 2 mins) and it melted the carpet luckily i was in the room, or it could have started a fire. i was able to fix the carpet, but im taking that SOB back to petco and getting a refund.

You think thats bad, when I first bought my bp, the guy at the pet store told me I needed a 150 watr bulb! I took it home and turned it on with my poor little bp in the cage. Later on I checked the temps.... it was like 120 - 130 degrees at the hottest spot!!! Im lucky I didnt kill my bp. I took it back for a refund, and got a UTH.

Yep, that is too hot but don't worry. You're snake has probably avoided the hot spot until now. Get a lower wattage bulb and keep checking the temps. If you are using a 60-watt, try a 40. I try to stay between 90 and 95 degrees on the hot end, though 95 can be too hot in a smaller enclosure.
