A couple questions
Does he nap in the same place he sleeps at night or in the open? Or is there alot of shade / lack of light in the cage in certain areas where he might feel it's night time?
If its dark he might go to sleep, but if not then it could be something more serious. Hopefully others will post better questions than these!
Be sure if you reply to post your caring techniques, feeding, misting, supplementation/gutloading, setup and light configuration! The more info the forum has the better to help!

How many hours of light does he get during the day? This may have something to do with it if you are providing too much. I had a 13 1/2 hour day cycle going for my 3 veileds and my females would go to their sleeping perch an hour or so before lights out, and my male would nap in the afternoon for an hour or so and then go chillax around his basking lamp.
