No one in the world ever gets what they want, and that is beautiful. Everybody dies frustrated and sad, and that is beautiful.

I just read in "the Reproductive Husbandry of Boas and Pythons" that you shouldn't x-ray a gravid snake unless it absolutly necessary. Do you agree or was there a medical issue you were looking for?

I hope you weren't the vet assistant who's gotten into the habit of X-raying your hand! lol
Of course the second is gravid, ooh a daisy
In response to the above post, one set of X-rays only raises the risk of deformity by the smallest fraction of a percent. Especially with snakes as the mAs used is very minute. As pertained to by my joke about the hand, it is repeated Xray's over a long period of time that may disrupt the nucleic matter in multiplying cells. Thus it is fast developing tissue that is most at risk, ie the gonads and/or fetal tissue. X-ray technicians wear docometers to measure the radiation they are succepted to. I've never had mine even register on the scale given. It may be different however if I wore it on my finger and left it in the shot (*poke*)
