Just got my first Uroplatus!

GekkoGecko Jun 20, 2003 07:08 PM

I just got a 1.1 Fimbriatus from Allen Both at REptile Kingdom....they're gorgeous! I currently breed Fat Tails and Leopard geckos (which I'm getting out of and selling on Kingsnake soon). I always wanted a pair of Fimbriatus. I'm keeping them similar to my White Line geckos without the heat or calcium with D3. They have a few good sized cork tubes and "Forest Floor substrate since it holds moisture very well. I plan on setting up a mister on a timer for it's new enclosure that I'm building which will be 30" x 30" x 48". If anyone can think of anything to add that I'm missing I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Bruce N

heavy on the plants and mayber some vertical branches would work out nice for them. how big of a tank do you have them in?

They are currently in a 29H tank. I know they require a much larger enclosure. I'll have one built by next next weekend. I originally planned on making one 30" x 30" x 48" but after thinking about it I decided I'd make an even larger enclosure. I'm going to make it from screen panels, the size will be 3'x 3'x 6'. I was thinking of adding a ficus tree and a couple other plants along with a misting and fan system on a timer. Hopefully this kind of environment will help stimulate breeding.
