Reverse Stripe & his siblings........

Raven01 Jul 06, 2004 11:16 AM

This is the first litter produced by my best friend in 2002. Her female gave birth to the reverse stripe (which she kept) and a partial stripe (which she generously gave me because I loved it so).

These two females she kept to breed back to either the reverse stripe, or their sire, or possibly both.

using my friend's male with one of my females. Even the few 'normals' out of this litter have faded side patterns and really nice coloring.

Her male doesn't show any special patterns or anomolies, just one elongated tail saddle - nothing that most people would consider remarkable. The same applies to my female that gave birth to the litter pictured above - she just has nice coloring and one elongated tail saddle. None of the adults that were combined to produce these two litters are related. Never-the-less, we ended up with phenomenal offspring by sheer luck and circumstance. It will take future breedings to determine if the genetics are recessive or co-dominant - though I'm leaning towards the latter since my female only produced nicely colored normal offspring like the one pictured below in her first litter.
