I can't get enough of these snakes. I think I may have to pick one up next month. At what age do they start to develope the colors around the scales? I have seen some young pics and they seemed to look dull but all of the adults are just gorgeous.

>>we keep winning people over with the beauty of the Bairdis.
My bairdis are a little less then two years old so I would say that by two to three years they probably get their full colors but mine seemed to start showing color at about six to eight months. It just seemed that with every shed a little more color showed.
They have probably been my favorite snakes to watch grow.
And not only do they continue to amaze you with each new shed they are also fairly active making them well suited for a display tank and they become just as tame and handleable (if that's a word) as corns.
And they are cheap...I think mine were $25.00 each.
Here is my male and my female respectively.
Rosie: She isn't quite as blue as this pic.Close but not quite.

Sam:

sorry for the off topic post so I will add a picture of a corn snake to help stay on topic...lol
I posted this the other day but I like the picture so I thought I would post it again. Not to mention the fact that I haven't uploaded many new pics recently..lol
