How much should a snapper eat?

I've been feeding my alligator snapper fish about 3 times a week and it grew from 2.4 inches to 8 inches in just 2 years. I don't want it to grow too fast so I was wondering how little food it can actually survive on. I certainly don't want it to die from starvation either.. would appreciate any contribution!
