Honestly, how often does everyone...

Honestly, how often does everyone change the water in their boa's water bowls?

Honestly, how often does everyone sanitize their boa's water bowls?

I sanitize weekly using virosan and dish soap. I try to change the water twice a week. Of course if they deficate in the bowl it is sanitized that day.

Any opinions about how often water changing and bowl cleaning should be done?

I know Hermann has a lot of useful info about this on his website.

I change their water anytime the animal deficates or urinates in the cage, or sheds, and sometimes just because...

I sanitize with virosan everytime I change the water.

I try and change it a minimum of 2 times a week and wash them with mild hand soap every week, and approximately once a month I place all of them in the tub and soak them in a bleach water. (not as difficult with less then 20 snakes, compared to many people who have larger collections) Oh, almost forgot I use disposable bowls for the little ones so I toss those once a week..

I personally try to clean & disinfect their bowls once a week, more if they need it. For water bowls, I typically use antibacterial dish soap for cleaning, unless they've defecated in the bowl and then I soak it in a bleach and water mixture for 20-30 minutes before washing with the dish soap. I follow the same practices for cage cleaning - usually once per week, more when needed, and always wipe the cage down with a mild bleach & water solution between every changing and after every elimination (urates or feces). The exceptions to these guidelines is if I'm out of town. I have my mom come by and check on my snakes and tend to my cats, but there's a couple of the snakes that I don't want her messing with because they're...tempermental...read as bitey little boogers! lol Those are saved for when I'm home. And always the adult female burm takes two of us, regardless of the task, so sometimes it may have to sit until evening before I can get assistance with her and her cage.

I wash all the water bowls twice a week. Clean the cages every Sunday, but I check all the cage every week, if I have to clean right away, I will do it. By the way. I never use any soap to clean the water bowls. What I do is after I wash all the bowls, I put them in to the microwave for 1 min. It will kill everything.
Thanks.

Minimum once per week, for young'ens. I use disposable dishes for neonates as well.
Larger snakes usually get changed every 4-7 days (or daily when defecated in), and I wash and sanitize every time I change the water. I house all animals separately whenever possible.

No one in the world ever gets what they want, and that is beautiful. Everybody dies frustrated and sad, and that is beautiful.

new water twice per week, clean bowls once per week, mist 3-4 times per week. Most of my corns drink from the misting, I only ever see my boas drink from the bowls and normally after eating only?

hehe,

Well I check on everyone daily to see if water needs to be added but I change the water and rinse out water dishes twice a week and disinfect once a week with Nolvasan and water.
If anyone defecates in their water, I immediately take it out and disinfect it, then refill and replace.
Other than that, if it looks like I have spare time during the week to do it more often, I do. ;D

Hugs!

Most of you and I change the water twice weekly and clean the bowl once weekly unless the animal has a bowel movement in the bowl, then it is cleaned immediately.

Thanks everyone for your replies!
