Does anyone here breed their own mice?.....

Any advice for a small colony of say....10 females? 5 males plenty?

and I used just one male for 15 females, and belive me he really can does the job

It can be cost effective as long as you don't need to feed babies to raise to adult size. Once you start putting food into the babies your costs skyrocket.

One way to keep over head down and production up is to run 1 male to 3 females preferably sisters. Set the male up first for at least a day and then introduce the females to his tank. When cleaning be sure to save the nest material with the babies or most likely your moms will eat the babies when returned.
