my leo has had a fairly normal appetite. I give him about 6 - 8 crickets everyday and I leave at least 10 mealies in a dish everyday. After feeding steadily on just mealies for about a week, she doesn't seem interested in them at all. Now she won't eat crickets either. I'll put in dusted crickets, with the legs pulled off to make it easier for her, and she'll make one or 2 attempts at getting them. But overall it seems like she is not interested in them. I leave about 3 in the tank over night just to see if she'll eat them...and so far nothing. Over the weekend i went to my local herp shop, and got some maggots. She seemed interested in these, even downed 3 right when she saw them. She had trouble getting them in her mouth (she's about a month old but has no problem with mini mealies), but eventually downed them. That was saturday. Ive tried both mealies, crickets, and even more maggots but she sees them, they scurry away and she doesn't pursue. Is my leo just a lazy ass gecko?
The temps are okay (85 hot side, 75 cool side), and she does drink water often (a couple times a day. So what can it be? It cant be impaction because she is on papertowels, but I was thinking about soaking her belly in warm water just to get the bowels movin. Any suggestions? Please help, because its been 2 days since Ive seen her eat, and she's definitely lost some weight.
