I read in a care guide on the internet saying that Burmese pythons are great swimmers. Is this true? I find it kinda hard to believe that my slow, hefty snake can swim.

Burms are very graceful swimmers, and many do like to swim. I have a small kiddie pool that I swim mine in a few days before they shed to help them. Or in the bathtub if the weather is bad. Some love to swim and some dont, but they all defecate in the water, many as soon as they hit the water. Just make sure the water is not too hot or cold.

Oh, that's good to know then! Well, my Burm just hates the water. He wouldn't go in lukewarm bath tub water about 2 inches deep. Should i just continue to let him be in there? Should i just keep putting him in until he's used to it?
You might check the temp of the water. My burms seem to like it just a bit cool to the touch. If it feels warm to you, even just a little bit, I would cool it down a bit. If the snake goes ballistic as soon as it hits the water, its probably temp.
You also might try soaking it pre shed. My burm doesnt love the water, but he'll sit for quite awhile just before he shed.
