Bloods and cages....

arboreals May 14, 2003 07:58 AM

Not sure what size visions i'm going to put my 3.5 plus ft sumatran red male in. I was told 4ft visions are fine for adult blood pythons? I'm looking to pair him up with a c.b. female but have yet to find one about his size or bigger. I'm also getting out of all my other projects to focus on blood pythons. I live in florida and will be at daytona picking up to 9 new blood python additions from sumatran reds/blacks, malaysians, borneo's, het albinos, and possably some local specific breeds. Not sure on cage size yet though. Bloods have quickly become my favorite snake and will remain in that position forever.

Go with bigger. Use the 4ft cages for P. brongersmai or even 6ft.
Borneo's would be fine in a 4ft, although I have large male that enjoys a 6ft.

I'd agree with what he said. But I'd also like to say, a 4ft might be fine. A lot of bloods prefer a medium sized cage to a large, as they feel more "safe" in more of an enclosed area. Good luck.

Bloods are absolutely my favorutes. I wish I were close enough to go to the Daytona show, I hear it's really something. My love for the speciesdates back about 4 years when a friend of mine had one and I was freaked by how awesome she was. Anyways, I found a black that is ti this day the most beautiful animal I have ever seen. Unfortunately the animal died of pneumonia when I moved from Virginia to Michigan when I got out of the Navy.
