HELP! my garter just multiplied!!!

pimple Jul 07, 2004 11:44 AM

i've had my garter for a couple of months now, and this is my very first snake! anyhoo, i just checked the tank and there are about 10 little garters there!!! YAY!!!

anyhow, my question is, what in the world am i supposed to do with them? do i keep the youngsters in a separate tank or what? i'm currently keeping the mother (about 40ish inches long) in a 20 gallon tank, but i also have an 80 gallon tank i'm not using right now, so maybe i could move the mother there, and have the babies all in the 20 gallon tank (?) also, when/how do i feed them?

thank you very much!!!

Earthworms! Sometimes they will only eat out of the water and sometimes they will take what is dropped in front of them. Humidity, clean cage and water and lots of good luck.

Guppies are another great starting food. just place them in a shallow water bowl in the tank. It's ok to keep baby Garters together.

How did your garter have babies? Did you breed it or do they have babies on there own?

Seriously...congratulations. I hope they do well for you.
