shiveley Jul 07, 2004 12:45 PM

Does anyone know anything about the quality and/or lineage of the JCP's from Price Animal Company?

Don't know anything about them, If lineage matters, Contact Tony Hurt, VPI, WIll Leary, Repticulas Reptiles?, and Jan Eric Engall (Out of the question on Jungles I think). If lineage matters, Spend the extra $50 or so and get a for sure quality animal, or simply ask them where they got the aniamls and contact the breeder of them.

I thought this would be a good thread to ask this question. Has any one here gotten a jungle carpet from Bob Clark? How do they turn out when they mature? I know he is a big time breeder, but I have never heard his name mentioned here once. Any info or experiences would be helpful. If you don't want to make a response post you are welcome to email me directly. mlsnp@aol.com

Thanks,

Bob Has quality animals regardless of what it is, However Im not sure about his jungles and most people are very picky about there jungles. Contact him im sure Bob has no problem with sending you pics of the parents and offspring they have produced. Bobs a hell of a guy, I met him in chicago at the NARBC I plan on buying from him as much as I can, I got a 100% het albino retic female from him and she couldn't be any better! Also do you plan on breeding the JCP or is it going to be a pet?

I bought this snake from Bob in 2002, whether he produced it or not is hard to tell. He showed me a very nice adult that he said was the father. This snake seems to change colors constantly, not just with sheds but between them. Some days he is very bright yellow, others brown, others light cream. Heres the pics

So, only one person here has bought a JCP from Bob Clark?

First of all, Bob doesn't produce all the snakes that he sells. He sells more snakes than he can produce, so he purchases entire clutches from other breeders to sell. The good thing about Bob is that he will tell you if he produced the snake or not.

As for Jungles, I know that he does produce some of them, but he's not a big Carpet guy, so I don't think he really keeps track of things like lineage, etc.

That said, if you're really picky, you may be better off going with someone like Will Leary, Selective Origins (Matt Turner & Adam Willich), Tim Schroeder, etc. That's not to say you can't get a good one from Bob, but that it's a little bit more of a crapshoot. I've seen some absolutely exquisite adult Jungles that were purchased from Bob as babies and I've also seen some very average ones that came from him. Then again, the top Jungle breeders in the country (mentioned above) produce some average ones from time to time.
