Picture and a question

Mad_1234 Jul 07, 2004 02:51 PM

Hi, I just have one question that I would like to ask all you uroplatus breeders out there. During this last week my female Uroplatus pietschmanni has developed sacs(calcium deposits) on the side of her face. What are these for? Are they a sign that she is gravid? Just wondering because she has not had them all year until now.

Also sorry about the quality of the picture. It isn't very good.

Yes that is exactly what I mean. She has two big bumps on each side of her neck. I know they are calcium deposits but i'm wondering what they are for and if it is a sign she is gravid or something else. I'm going to try and contact Neil Meister and ask him. I'll also try and get a shot of her tonight so people can actually she what i am talking about.

well, my females just began doing the same exact thing. time to start offering more food! im just trying to get my male started with my two females. one infertile clutch has already been laid. the females are about twice as big as the male now. im pretty sure its just a sign their cycle is starting.
