Personally i know nobody that uses dry foods for feeding most leos dont like it and it isnt as nutritional as live food.

Also leos are predatory, and are stimulated by movement. Obviously a dried out dead cricket is no where near as healthy as a gutloaded squirming one.
if maybe the gecko is slow or cant catch crickets, you can always use mealworms. but if you're struck on crickets, what I do is a 'paralize them'. I take a drinking straw and crack their necks almost. They loose control of their legs, and either flail in circles, or run, but slowly, moving enough to catch the gecko's attention, but slow enough for them to get eaten.
