Please help me Identify these Bloods.

LauraV Jul 07, 2004 07:25 PM

I traded with a friend for this adult Blood pair. They are wanting to get into boas, so I took these, as I am definately not into colubrids. I was interested in breeding them this coming season, after they put back on their weight from the last season, but have since found a boa I cannot live without.

I placed an ad, but was emailed that the identification on these animals was wrong. My friend was told (they have had these c.b.b. babies since they were hatched)that the female was a red blood, the folks they got the male from just called him a blood.

I want to make sure that I sell them as what they really are, versus what I was told. I would like to be as accurate as possible. Please look over the pics and email me or respond here with what you believe them to be.

thank you for your consideration.

They are both in shed when I took the pics, the male will shed at any time, so keep that in mind when you evaluate them.

Female proven approx 4'

male approx 3'

Thank you again for your consideration.

The female is a borneo and the male looks to be a borneo as well but may be a black X borneo.
thats just my two cents.

That's what I told her as well. I am positive the female is a Borneo, and about 90% positive on the male, but you may be right about him being a cross with a curtis. I questioned her ad as I was interested in the female (as a Borneo) and wanted to find out more about her. She said the previous owners that sold them to her as a red blood and a "blood" had them from hatchlings, and they are now 5 years old. You would think in that time they would have known what they had. I'm interested to hear others opinions on this.

Your female is definately a Borneo Short Tail. And the male definately has black blood in him (P.curtis) looks like a regular black to me but could possibly be a cross with a borneo, tho I don't think so.
