A couple of Questions to all the breeders...

MacArthur Jul 07, 2004 08:18 PM

I have been researching on breeding leos. but i have a couple of questions. How long can you leave the male in with the female? Can you keep them together without them breeding and how? does anyone have rack plans and howdo you heat the sterilites with that heat tape? wont it melt them?

If you keep 2 ready to breed male and females together there will be no way of stoping them unless you partition off the cage to keep them seperate. If you were researcing breeding and want to breed then why keep them apart? Only keep them apart if they are still to small so your female will not become eggbound if she is not where she should be of breeding size and weight.

Racking systems are heated with flex watt heat tape either down the back or underneath, if underneith some racking systems are cut out for groves so the heat tape is not right under, but the ones that are I have not seen or herd of the tubs melting.
