I regret that I haven't been on this forum in over a year, as, among other things that have consumed my time, I have relocated 160 miles north from West Palm Beach to Winter Haven, Fl. (just minutes from Cypress Gardens). I am now happily self-employed, and thus have had the time to come back to the forum. Call me crazy, but I spent parts of the last 2 weeks reading EVERY posting written since I was last on...I think my computer mouse is done for.
I recently visited the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and was fortunate to be there during the AZA Captive Crocodilian Class with Kent Vilet and students. I then lurked nearby the group for the afternoon as John Brueggen gave the students an entertaining tour of the park. (I didn't want to look like a dreaded "lurker", but my girlfriend pressed me to follow them, as she saw how excited I was.)SAAF is looking mighty sharp these days.
I am in the process of designing and creating a modest crocodilian exhibit (including live specimens and a museum) at my family's pet store/wildlife attraction in WPB. I raised and worked with crocodilians throughout my childhood and teen years, but have been somewhat inactive in my interaction with them for the last several years. I have longed to be back working with them!
Anyway, it's nice to be back, and I look forward to future postings.
