Odd question please give your 2 cents

Ok I am going to be getting a new snake but I am stuck between two different snakes. I want a large snake but I am not sure which one I want. I am stuck between Columbian Red Tail (BCI) or a Carpet python. I know to get a large carpet it would have to be a coastal carpet. I am wondering what are the odds of actually gettin a large BCI something around 8 feet and what are the odds of getting a large coastal and what would the girth be like on both. I mean I know BCI's have huge girth but I want to know what it is in comparison. Sorry if this questions seems like I'm dumb but I cant think of any other way to word this.
Thanks

I can't speak much for the pythons, but as for the boas, your odds of getting a big one are very good. Females are generally larger than males, and for Colombian BCI, females average in the 7-9 foot range. Keep in mind that the Colombian BCI are the giants of the BCI. Most others will stay smaller. BCC generally reach a larger size, but are often slower to reach that size than BCI. Also, BCC require much more stringent habitat control--ie. temp., humidity, etc. An adult female Colomobian BCI will reach the girth of a 2-liter soda bottle at the max.

Hope this helps a little.

Matt
