This is a strage question but please tell me what you know

Ok I am going to be getting a new snake but I am stuck between two different snakes. I want a large snake but I am not sure which one I want. I am stuck between Columbian Red Tail (BCI) or a Carpet python. I know to get a large carpet it would have to be a coastal carpet. I am wondering what are the odds of actually gettin a large BCI something around 8 feet and what are the odds of getting a large coastal and what would the girth be like on both. I mean I know BCI's have huge girth but I want to know what it is in comparison. Sorry if this questions seems like I'm dumb but I cant think of any other way to word this.
Thanks

Coastals will not get as girthy as a boa. Female Colombians tend to grow larger than males. When you decide which species you want, ask the breeder what size the parents are. Big parents will tend to have big offspring. Or to remove all doubt- purchase an adult snake that's about the size you want.

THe real question is do you want a 2 liter bottle girth or a 24 oz water bottle girth. Also, what are your plans for the snake? Display? Pet? Breeder?
